TCP in Action

The Trinidad Conservation Project is a special program within SHI that focuses on five communities near
Trinidad, Honduras. The TCP is unique in that it is a partnership of churches, NGOs, and individuals that
funds and supports a Honduran field trainer, Roy Lara, and SHI’s work with 75 families in five communities.

Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) is a nonprofit organization that works with 120 communities in four
Central American countries, teaching families how to move away from slash-and-burn farming.  Its staff trains
families in sustainable agriculture and reforestation practices that that restore the planet’s rain forests, improve
families’ nutrition, increase yield of basic grains, and provide increased income to families.
